Jesus selecting His disciples
or sending forth His disciples

Two of Jesus’ disciples tried to cast out a demon from a man but could not, so they went to Jesus for help, and Jesus said that this kind (of demon) would only come out by prayer and fasting (but He still cast it out of the man)

Naaman, a prominent man in Syria, got leperosy, and his wife’s little servant girl told her about the prophet Elisha, who could heal him. So he looked up Elisha and got the message to go and wash in the Jordan River and he would be cleansed of the disease but he didn’t want to do that, thinking it was too simple or beneath him or something.

( description from Google )
  • Context: Naaman was a highly regarded soldier but suffered from leprosy. An Israeli servant girl told his wife that a prophet in Samaria could heal him.
  • The Command: Elisha did not meet Naaman personally, but sent a messenger instructing him to wash seven times in the Jordan River.
  • Initial Refusal: Naaman was enraged, expecting a grand gesture, and considered the Jordan inferior to his home rivers in Damascus.
  • Healing: After his servants convinced him to follow the advice, Naaman dipped in the river seven times and was completely healed.
  • Outcome: Naaman was cleansed, his skin became like that of a child, and he recognized the God of Israel.

The poor widow gave just one mite/coin, and some of the men in the temple looked upon her with arrogance and scorn, but Jesus said she gave more than they did - because it was all she had.

Mary Magdalene broke some expensive oil/perfume and annointed the feet of Jesus with it, then wiped his feet with her hair and her tears

an Ethiopian eunich was trying to understand scripture, when God sent Philip to him, and Philip asked what’s up, what are you reading and and the eunich was like how can I understand it, I have no one to explain it to me? He was reading from the scripture of Isaiah. So Peter hopped up and explained things to him, and the eunich pointed out a pool of water and said what’s stopping me from being baptized right now? This eunich was a servant of Queen Candace, and he brought Christianity back to Ethiopia!

miracles of multiplication, enough for everybody!

They weren’t catching any fish that day, but Jesus saw them and told them to cast their net on the right side of the boat. The catch was so large the net broke, and fishermen in a nearby boat had to come help them bring it in!
