• Peter: Originally Shimon/Petros (Rock), he was a prominent leader and fisherman.
• Andrew: Peter’s brother, a fisherman, and the first disciple called.
• James (the Greater): Son of Zebedee, fisherman, brother of John.
• John: Son of Zebedee, known as "the beloved disciple," author of the Gospel of John.
• Philip:
   From Bethsaida, brought Nathanael to Jesus.
Bartholomew: Often identified as Nathanael.
Thomas: Known as Didymus (Twin), famous for doubting the resurrection.
Matthew: A tax collector (also called Levi).
James (the Less): Son of Alphaeus.
Jude/Thaddaeus: Son of James, sometimes called Judas (not Iscariot).
Simon the Zealot: Also called Simon the Canaanite.
Judas Iscariot: The disciple who betrayed Jesus and was later replaced by Matthias
