Jesus and a lame man at the pool of Bethesda
The Pool of Bethesda was a spring of water that an angel of the Lord came to now & again, stirred up the water, and when that happened, the first person who needed healing to touch the water was healed. So lots of lame and sick people with all kinds of infirmaties and problems hung out around the water, waiting for the angel to come, then I’m sure there was a huge commotion, lots of pushing and shoving (I’m guessing), and overall general me-first stuff going on.
Anyway, this one lame man had been there for a very long time, and guess who showed up. Our Lord. Jesus asked the man what was up, and the man told him that when the water was troubled someone else always got to the water first, and no one would help him in.
So, Jesus Himself healed the poor guy.
He stood up and walked.
100% healed.
made whole.
Yes.
Jesus was teaching the people one day and a paralyzed man needed healing but his friends couldn’t get through the door to reach Jesus so they cut a hole through the roof and lowered him down. Jesus healed him and was pleased with their determination!
